Matted Poetry Gallery

After writing the first book, I thought matting some of the poetry would be an awesome idea and a great gift for other people to give or keep for themselves. So in October of 2004, I put this idea onto paper (literally), and created a show with seventeen of my poems for Jefferson Baptist Church.  The show did very well and later on, I sold several of the poems to a bookstore, at a Christmas bazaar, and at the book-signing party for the second book, In His Eyes.

Then, I was asked to put another show together for George Fox Evangelical Seminary for the months of March and April in 2006.  Soon, my living room floor was covered in mats, paper, frames, and poems.  I had so much fun matching all the colors and poems up together!  My friend Deanna even came over to help and she quizzed me for my upcoming midterm as we walked the isles of Craft Warehouse in search of interesting paper designs.  Then I took those papers over to Kinko's to cut everything to size and put the poems and mats together.  (The staff there are now threatening to buy me my own paper cutter for Christmas.)  It felt so good to finally be able to slip each poem into its plastic sheath or frame.  At last, when all was finished and hung on the walls or placed on the pedestals at George Fox, I had forty-two pieces displayed.  I loved having my poetry exhibited and "out there" for people to read and they certainly loved reading it!

So now, I present the show to you in an online version so you can see what all the rage is about!  In addition to the ones already made and posted on the website, I can create a matted poem specifically for you for the same price if you have something else in mind.  You can choose from any of the poems in either book, with any of the illustrations, and in any font.  You can also specify matt color, paper, size, and frame.  Just let me know and I'll get it to you!  

If you live near Salem or Portland, Oregon, I can deliver your poem to you.  If you live out of the area or would like your poem mailed anyway, we'll work out the postage when you contact me.  I will only charge what it costs for me to send it.  More information on specific pricing is coming soon.
