When I first started compiling the first book,
"Learning to Fly", the author, Doloris
Dahl, who helped me get started,
suggested I think about having the book illustrated.
I remember trying to figure how to go about that when I talked to my
friend
Richard McConochie about the possibility of having
him work on it with me.
The drawings he came up with brought such life and
movement to the words that I not cannot imagine one without the other.
By the time I was ready to talk about illustrations
for the second book, "In His Eyes",
Richard was working on his masters degree in
architecture and couldn't give the time such intense work requires.
Thus, I made some inquiries and God brought me to
ClaraLee Esther, a very talented artist and a warm-hearted woman I have
come to love. Working with her has been such a delight and I am
still amazed at her imagination and creative insight.
It has been such a joy to work with both artists and
I look forward to seeing where God takes them with their giftings.
